This Privacy Policy applies to Marcus Aurelius: Your Stoic Counsel (the "Application"). The Application is operated independently by its developer ("we," "us," or "Service Provider"). It is offered as a web-based service with free access and an optional paid one-time upgrade, accessible via modern web browsers.

Information We Collect

• Browser, device, and operating system information
• Pages visited within the Application and time spent on them
• Email address and authentication identifiers
• Billing metadata related to any purchases

User-Generated Content & AI Processing

When using the Application, you may submit messages, prompts, or questions to the AI. These inputs and generated responses may be stored to provide the service, maintain session continuity, and generate daily reflections or other features available to users who unlock the paid upgrade.

Do not submit sensitive personal data (e.g., government IDs, health, financial account numbers, or children's data). If you choose to share such information, you do so at your own risk, and we may delete it to protect your privacy.

Conversations are not used by us to train any public AI models. Prompts and responses are processed by our AI provider (e.g., Groq) solely to generate output and operate the service, subject to their data handling terms. Stored content is associated with your account and used only to operate, maintain, and improve the Application.

The Application provides philosophical and reflective content only and does not provide medical, psychological, legal, or professional advice.

Authentication & Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party providers to operate core functionality, including:

• Clerk for user authentication and account management
• Stripe for secure payment processing
• Supabase for database and data storage
• Groq and other AI service providers to generate AI responses

These providers process data only as necessary to perform their services and are subject to confidentiality and data-protection obligations. We do not store credit or debit card information.

Third-Party AI Services (Groq)

When you use AI-powered features, your inputs and related data are sent to our AI provider(s) (currently Groq) solely to generate the requested responses. We do not use your inputs to train any public AI models and we do not authorize use of your data for marketing or other secondary purposes on our behalf. Groq processes data under its own privacy terms, which may include retention or other handling we do not control. Please review Groq's privacy policy to understand how your data may be processed.

AI Processing & Accuracy

Prompts and responses may be sent to AI providers (e.g., Groq) for processing. AI-generated content may be inaccurate or incomplete; you are responsible for how you use it. Do not rely on it for medical, legal, financial, or other safety-critical decisions.

Data Retention

Personal data is retained while your account remains active and for a reasonable period thereafter for legal and operational purposes. You may request deletion by contacting spartanmindstatebusiness@gmail.com.

Children's Privacy

The Application is not intended for anyone under 18 or under the age of majority where you live (whichever is higher). Do not use the Service if you do not meet that requirement.

Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorized access or misuse.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Application constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
